About the Author
Craig Childs is the author of fourteen books, including The Animal Dialogues: Uncommon Encounters in the Wild and House of Rain: Tracking a Vanished Civilization Across the American Southwest. Winner of the 2026 John Burroughs Medal, he has contributed to Radiolab and NPR’s Science Friday, and his work has appeared in The Atlantic, The New York Times,Los Angeles Times, High Country News, and Adventure Journal. He lives in Western Colorado.
