A comprehensive and compassionate approach to breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and what comes after, to educate and empower you to be your own—and best—advocate.

A breast cancer diagnosis is profoundly life-changing at any age, but can be especially distressing for younger women who must navigate their diagnosis and treatment while balancing the responsibilities and pressure of career goals, parenting, fertility concerns, dating, relationships, marriage, and more. Despite the rise in breast cancer among younger women, resources for these patients can be few and far between, and it can be difficult to know which ones to trust.

Enter Beyond the Pink. As a board-certified medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer, Dr. Teplinsky picks up where the clinical visits leave off. Beyond the Pink goes beyond the science and medicine to focus on the challenges encountered by younger breast cancer previvors, survivors and thrivers, but the material is applicable for all who have been touched by breast cancer. Dr. Teplinsky helps them navigate their way through recovery and life, offering:

  • A comprehensive look at screening, diagnosis, and genetics with the most up-to-date information on treatment options
  • Practical tools for emotional and psychological issues, such as anxiety, depression, body image, and fear of cancer recurrence
  • Information on treating and living with metastatic breast cancer
  • A clear overview of how cancer treatments affect health, including menopause, cardiovascular, bone, muscle, brain, and sexual health, with practical strategies to manage them
  • Real stories from breast cancer previvors, survivors and thrivers

If you or someone you love has been diagnosed with breast cancer, Beyond the Pink is your go-to resource from a trusted expert.

  • “This is the book I will be recommending to my patients—and the one I wish I had in my hands when I was diagnosed as a young woman. Dr. Teplinsky truly goes ‘beyond the pink,’ delivering a guide that is as comprehensive as it is compassionate, and one that recognizes a fundamental truth: survivorship begins the day you are diagnosed.”
Dr. Corinne Menn, OBGYN, menopause and survivorship specialist
  • “As a gynecologist who cares for women navigating the aftermath of a breast cancer diagnosis, I cannot overstate the importance of Beyond the Pink. Too often, patients leave the whirlwind of diagnosis and treatment only to find themselves asking, ‘Now what?’ This book answers that question. It should be required reading not only for women diagnosed with breast cancer, but also for the clinicians, partners, family members, and friends walking beside them.”
Dr. Kameelah Phillips, author of The Empowered Hysterectomy
  • “As my own oncologist, Dr. Teplinsky has guided me through some of the hardest and most uncertain moments of my life with both brilliance and deep compassion; Beyond the Pink reflects that same care on every page. It’s the kind of resource you’ll want to highlight, dog-ear, and share with every woman you love.”
Miranda McKeon, actress and content creator
  • Beyond the Pink is a comforting, friendly and informative book that will walk anyone affected by breast cancer through the treatment rollercoaster. Dr. Teplinsky draws on her years of experience looking after people like you and me and gets that the impact of cancer doesn’t end when your treatment does. If you’re going to buy a book, put this at the top of your list.”
Dr. Liz O’Riordan, breast surgeon and breast cancer patient
  • “Dr. Teplinsky has written the book I wish every one of my patients could have: it is evidence-based, deeply human, and candid about topics often left unsaid. From the very first mammogram to the realities of life during and after treatment, she approaches women not simply as patients, but as whole people with unique goals, challenges, and concerns. This is the kind of resource patients return to again and again—one that helps them better understand their options, navigate uncertainty, and feel more confident in the decisions they make along the way.”
Elizabeth Comen, MD, breast oncologist, author, All In Her Head
  • Beyond the Pink is the compassionate, evidence-based guide I would give to each individual newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Dr. Teplinsky leads readers through each treatment decision- surgery, radiation, and systemic therapy- and onward to life after cancer. Clear, hopeful, and empowering, this book is an essential companion for anyone facing breast cancer.”
Amy Comander MD, FACLM, breast oncologist, Director of Lifestyle Medicine, Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute, Instructor in Medicine, Harvard Medical School
  • Beyond the Pink is the roadmap every breast cancer patient needs. Dr. Teplinsky is a trusted voice in the breast cancer community. Her ability to break down complex medical information into something clear and understandable sets her apart. This book empowers patients with the knowledge and reassurance needed to make informed decisions and move forward with confidence. A must read for anyone facing a breast cancer diagnosis.”
Katie Thurston, former Bachelorette and breast cancer advocate
  • “Breast cancer affects every part of your life. With nuance and compassion, Dr. Teplinsky astutely addresses the many topics that often get lost in diagnosis and treatment, including intimate relationships and body image. Beyond the Pink is a comprehensive, essential resource no matter where you are on your journey. Keep this indispensable guide close.”
