From Isaias Hernandez, founder of Queer Brown Vegan, a personal, compelling call for environmental justice that demystifies complex environmental issues, amplifies marginalized voices, calls for true inclusion and equity, and empowers everyone to pursue community-led change.

As the Earth undergoes profound environmental changes and disasters and the powers-that-be neglect it, many of us are feeling disempowered and at a loss on how to process and proceed, partly because the conversation around environmentalism has become inaccessible to many and has long ignored the essential role that racial and social equity play in the survival of our planet. Environmental educator, storyteller, and writer Isaias Hernandez aims to make the complex and often obscured discussions around environmental literacy accessible to everyone, particularly those who are awakening to their complicity in climate destruction but feel powerless to effect change.

Dear Environmentalist serves as both a primer and a call to action, inviting readers to understand their role in the broader ecosystem and empowering them with knowledge to advocate for a just and sustainable world. At the same time that this book edifies and challenges the factors that have obscured empowerment and hampered the necessary fight for environmental justice, it imbues readers with hope, wakes them to the essential role of community in the quest for repair and progress, and ultimately empowers them with the passion and knowledge to act toward true progress.
