About the Author

Aeschylus (c.525–456 BCE) was an ancient Greek dramatist frequently described as the “Father of Tragedy.” During his life, he wrote an estimated 70-90 plays, however, he is most famous for the Oresteia trilogy. His plays are noted for their high poetic quality and their exploration of divine justice and morality, as well as social and political issues.
